Conveyancing & Land Law

We understand that buying or selling a home can be both an exciting and anxious time whether you’re a first time buyer or moving up or down the property ladder. We aim to make this as stress free a process as possible. We also advise in relation to transfers of property between family members, voluntary transfers of property for tax purposes and creating Trusts for family lands.

This is an area where we feel strongly about promoting and utilising alternative dispute resolution techniques. We advise and support our Clients in non adversarial and non contentious processes and solutions to their legal problems. We have a proven ability to successfully represent clients in an array of civil litigation proceedings such as defamation, injunctive relief applications, land disputes, etc.

Law

This is a key practice area of interest for us and one which we strive to be understanding, knowledgeable and professional. We are constantly updating our skills in this unique area of law and are active members of the Irish Family Lawyers Association.  We are skilled district and circuit court practitioners with extensive experience in guardianship, access, maintenance, assisted human reproduction situations, custody, relocation applications, divorce and judicial separation. We believe in a collaborative approach which is results focused.

Injuries

We have a proven track record in assisting clients come to terms with injuries (both physical and non physical) arising out of accidents in the workplace, public places, as a result of road traffic accidents, from unsafe systems, equipment or places of work, harassment, bullying and negligently performed medical procedures. A tricky area of law and one which we assure attention to the necessary details.

Wills, Power of Attorney and Probate

We fully appreciate the stress and upset a probate application can bring and we aim to execute our duty to the estate and the deceased and our Clients with the necessary and appropriate level of care and expertise. Similarly with making a Will or creating a power of attorney we explain the process and advise fully on all issues. As an active member of the Solicitors for the Elderly we have a particular interest in ensuring older persons rights and wishes are protected and vindicated.

Employment 

We have provided advice and representation to both employers and employees in employment tribunals and have lectured in the area of safety health and welfare in the workplace and employment law for business owners all over the country. It is an area which we are confident and  quick to assess a situation and provide advices. 

Who are we and what do we do? 

Practice was established in 2009 by Dorothy Walsh a qualified solicitor and has grown from strength to strength and achieved a high level of results based successes for Clients across a range of practice areas.

Dorothy has: 

  • Lectured in the law Society of Ireland in the area of technology in legal practice ,  

  • written numerous articles for the Law Society of Ireland’s publication The Gazette. 

  • Lectured in the area of employment and health and safety law to hundreds of business owners up and down the country,  

  • Been a contributing Delegate to the European Union Gender Equality Law Conference 2018, 

  • Achieved specific qualifications in the Law Society of Ireland for Civil Litigation, Employment Law and Family Law and is undertaking a Masters in Child and Family Law.
